PMI’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®

This is a valuable entry-level certification for students who are about to graduate or graduated. Students who may have to do their final year project or have done a project as part of their academics are called as project practitioners. This certification course is designed for those with little or no project experience. The CAPM® Certification demonstrates your understanding on the principles and terminology of A Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), which is the standard of project management’s generally recognised good practices.


PMI offers a discounted membership rate for students. Individuals who qualify for student membership can receive a discounted rate of US$40 – which means students can also access the same knowledge resources and professional networks as regular members do. PMI student members also receive special pricing on exam fees, online purchases, events and professional development opportunities.

CAPM Examination Fee -  Computer Based Test for a PMI Member is $225
CAPM Examination Fee  - Paper Based Test for a PMI Member is $225
CAPM’s CBT Fee for a Non-member is $300, PBT Fee for a Non-member is $300

CAPM Eligibility - To apply for the CAPM, you need to have:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma or the global equivalent)
    AND
  • At least 1,500 hours of project experience
    OR
  • 23 hours of project management education by the time you sit for the exam.
